A large retirement facility isn't for everyone......
Kristy Jenkins says "When my mother in law passed on, my father in law was not the type to live on his own. Luckily, he was not in need of a nursing home... but he wasn't the least bit interested in living in a busy retirement home full of other people, the schedules or the programs. He wanted to spend his time, his way! In a comfortable, homey atmosphere. He wanted a yard to walk or garden in; he wanted a deck to sit out on and enjoy his morning coffee or his evening scotch. He wanted to enjoy his neighbors when he wanted to, not because he had to...
And so, the Senior House Share concept came to be!
Kristy Jenkins, previously a nurse in the long term care environment had a vision....To encourage seniors to live their retirement in a pleasant, peaceful environment. One where they could do anything or nothing of their choosing. This concept allows up to three seniors to share in an intimate, personal but spacious home environment. So, with her father in law in mind, she and her husband have taken on the task of providing just such a setting.
They have purchased and completely refurbished a beautiful bungalow home to suit any healthy senior. It offers each resident (max 3) a totally private, furnished space of their own; several common areas for relaxing or visiting with friends/family; a beautiful back deck overlooking a gorgeous tree line (no neighbours behind); a lovely front patio for watching the neighbourhoods action; a quite serene side yard along the treeline for reading, snoozing or just enjoying the birds! This home is located in a super neighborhood on the edge of Pineridge Estates. A stones throw to the township offices and medical clinic, and only a short jaunt to restaurants, shopping, coffee, walking trails and much more.
Social events will be offered quarterly.
